Our knowledgeable team of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) has specialized training in anesthesia and work in collaboration with our surgeons to provide individualized anesthesia care to our patients.

Our providers are highly qualified to conduct pre-operative assessments, administer anesthesia, monitor patients during surgery, and monitor post operative anesthesia recovery. Our CRNA team specializes in maintaining patient comfort, managing pain, and promoting physiological stability throughout the surgical procedure.

What can you expect regarding Anesthesia Care?

Before your procedure

Your anesthesia provider with conduct a pre-operative assessment that may include: health history information, current medications and allergies, past experiences with anesthesia, and the last time you ate or drank anything. This information will help the provider to come up with a specialized plan to safely and effectively meet your needs during and after surgery.

During your procedure

Your anesthesia provider will administer anesthesia medications, place airways (if needed), and monitor your vital signs during your surgery. Medication adjustments will be made based on individual needs throughout your procedure.

After your procedure

Your anesthesia provider will stop the use of medications and remove airways (if placed) when your procedure is complete. The anesthesia provider along with the surgery team will then transfer you to the recovery room for post procedure monitoring and care.

Local anesthesia

Local anesthesia is a type of anesthesia in which a local anesthetic is injected into a target area that numbs a specific area of the body and provides pain relief. It works by blocking nerve signals in the area and alters the brain’s perception of pain in the body. Local anesthetics can begin working in minutes and may last for 30 minutes to a couple of hours. Your anesthesia provider will discuss the plan of care with you before the procedure.

Regional anesthesia is a type of anesthesia in which a local anesthetic is injected into a target area that numbs a larger area of the body and provides pain relief.

Total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA) is a type of anesthesia in which intravenous drugs are administered while patient’s vital signs are continuously monitored. This provides a controlled anesthetic state that may be preferred over inhaled anesthesia in certain conditions. This type of anesthesia is based off of individual needs. Medications are administered and adjusted based on the patient’s needs while being closely monitored by the anesthesia provider. Your anesthesia provider will discuss the plan of care with you before your procedure.

Monitored anesthesia care (MAC) is a type of anesthesia service in which the anesthesia provider continuously monitors a patient’s vital signs while providing intravenous sedation, pain relief, and respiratory support. Medications are administered in a way that induces relaxation while reducing awareness and minimizing pain and discomfort. Your anesthesia provider will discuss the plan of care with you before your procedure.

General anesthesia is a type of anesthesia that induces a state of unconsciousness and eliminates awareness and pain. Intravenous drugs are administered by the anesthesia provider while vital signs are continuously monitored. Various medications and/or airways may be used to achieve optimal level of sedation and care. Your anesthesia provider will discuss these with you before your procedure.
