Meet Dr. Matthew Prine

Dr. Matthew Prine is a board-certified family medicine physician with over 10 years of experience providing comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals and families across all stages of life. He is dedicated to fostering long-term relationships with his patients and helping them achieve and maintain optimal health.
Education & Training
Originally from Epps, Louisiana, Dr. Prine’s interest in medicine began early through the AHEC program during high school. After graduating from Riverfield Academy, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and a Master’s degree in Biology from Louisiana Tech University. He later received his medical degree from LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport and completed his residency in Rural Family Medicine in Caddo Parish, where he gained valuable experience caring for patients in underserved communities.
Family & Community
While in college, Dr. Prine worked at Richardson Medical Center, where he met his future wife, Jessica. The couple married in 2003 and have built a life centered on family, faith, and service. They are proud parents of three children and are active members of Start Baptist Church, where they participate in worship and community outreach.
A Personal Journey
Shortly after marrying, Dr. Prine faced a personal health challenge when he was diagnosed with cancer. With strength, faith, and the support of his family, he underwent surgery and chemotherapy and is now grateful to be in remission. This experience as a patient deepened his compassion and strengthened his calling to serve others through medicine.
